Décor On a Budget: Frames from Michaels

image1Since we moved into our home almost 2 years ago, Helen and I have been struggling to find time to give our home a warmer and cozier feel.  Our home still had plenty of cold, blank space on our walls, so we decided it was time to spruce up the place with some family pictures.  But, when we started shopping around, our jaws dropped at the prices of nice frames!  We were looking for frames… not priceless art.  But, with our Instagram envy in full force (something we need to work on), we were on a mission to find an affordable option.

Luckily, we ran across a big sale at Michaels for a specific style of square 20″ x 20″ white matted frames for 8″ x 10″ photos that we really liked.  With a 50% off sale, customer appreciation week knocking off an additional 20%, and some coupons we were able to purchase the $39.99 frames for under $15 each.image2

We knew we wanted to try a classic black & white photo theme for the hallway, so we printed up some wedding and travel pics in 8″ x 10″ and voila!  From bare walls to a classy looking photo walls.  We’re definitely happy with how the hallway turned out.  It’s nice coming home after a long day to be greeted by these warm, happy memories.

When you’re spending your budget on diapers, formula, childcare, etc. it makes it tough to have much left over for your home improvements and décor.  But, with some patience, sales, coupons, and creativity, you don’t have to break the bank to spruce up your home.

Share some of your photo galleries and DIY frames with us!  We’re always looking for some inspiration for our next home project.
